Happy Monday #61

 

For the past week I seem to have been thinking a lot about work-based comedies…   The Office, Are You Being Served, Dinner Ladies etc.  All awesome shows!

 

 

But in particular, I’ve been fondly remembering a somewhat lesser-known sit com: The Smoking Room.

 

For those of you who’ve never heard of it, The Smoking Room is a British sitcom set entirely in the smoking room of a fictitious company (obviously, this was back in the day when smoking in an enclosed work space was permissible).

 

The humour is irreverently British… and dare I say it, genius.  If you’ve ever worked in an office, I suspect you’ll recognise quite a few characters.

 

Word of warning: It inevitably contains a few naughty words.

 

Happily, I’ve managed to source one of my favourite episodes for you to enjoy.

 

Background: Significant snow fall has meant that nobody is able to get home, and therefore everyone is stuck in work.  Sally was meant to be going down the pub… a plan now dashed.  And so, she improvises:
