Happy Monday #47

Well, it’s the Monday after the week of “The Dress” (blue & black or white & gold?  Let me know!) and life is starting to get back to normal.  I suppose you could say it’s week 1 AD… After the Dress.

Burrum bum… I’m here until Thursday folks.  Try the steak!

So, what kind of Monday are you having?  Where I am, the sun is shining and the sky is blue.  Happy days!

But it’s not a Happy Monday for everyone.  In fact, it’s amazing how many people I know have been dreading today all weekend.  Dreading it because they don’t want to go back to work, don’t like their jobs or don’t enjoy what they do.

So, this week’s Happy Monday is just for them…

Happy Monday #47

Happy Monday!  If you’ve been dreading today, then this is specifically for you!

Even if you’re loving your Monday, it’s still worth checking it out.

This is the week to be fearless:

Here’s an excerpt for those of you who can’t watch the video straight away:

There are two types of people in the world when it comes to attitude and thought process.

The first set are the people who wait for opportunities to come to them so they can take them.  They wait endlessly for some mirage or oasis to magically appear.  Yet it never comes to fruition.  And they end up in some job that they have no intention of being in, doing some minuscule task that they have no desire doing.  All because they weren’t willing to risk it.

The second set of people, these are the ones who find a way to create opportunities for themselves.  These are the ones who make their own luck, so to speak.  These people are your Fortune 500 CEO types.  These are the ones who live life on their terms.  These are the ones who live life that they wanted to, that they intended, that they envisioned.

And the difference between the two sets of people comes down to this concept of fear.

You know, the only fear that you should have in this life is fear in itself.

Because those who aren’t afraid to go after what they want in life are the ones who turn out to be successful.

So if you were one of those people dreading this morning, I challenge you to be fearless this week:

  • If you hate your job, start brushing up your CV and searching for a new one.

  • If you feel underqualified or inexperienced, commit yourself to upskilling or create the opportunities you need to build experience.

  • If you feel undervalued, tell your boss.

  • If you feel like you’re drifting, make a decision and choose a direction – and give it everything you’ve got.

Go be fearless this week… create your own opportunities, pursue what you want & don’t settle for anything less. You owe it to yourself.
