Good morning & Happy Monday 🙂 I hope you all had an awesome weekend!
If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, I hope you enjoyed the eclipse watching on Friday. Rocky and I spent a good few hours out the garden watching… well, I watched – he sniffed around and played with the ants.
I did take a few photos for you, but I’m afraid they’re not too impressive. Wonderful horizontal beams of light though, don’t you think?
If you look closely, you can see the actual eclipse in the small reflection, slightly to the lower right of the sun:
While many were disappointed that we weren’t plunged into darkness, I still found the experience quite awesome!
Not only did the light go a very strange colour, but it’s remarkable when you consider that we STILL couldn’t look directly at the sun (or see the eclipse), despite it being nearly 90% covered by the moon.
p.s. if you’re on Facebook, you might want to check out this seriously awesome photo taken in the Brecon Beacons:
Happy Monday #50
This week I’ve got an awesome video containing a speech by motivational speaker Les Brown:
If you ask most people… do you want to be successful? Do you want to live a life of productivity? Do you want to live a life of contribution? Do you want to be a better father? Do you want to have your own business? Are there dreams you want?
Everyone will say yes.
But what shows up in conversation? Expectation shows up in behaviour.
See, I can tell what you expect by what you do.
That’s why the bible says to judgeth a tree by the fruit that it bears. Not the fruit that it wants. Not the fruit that it talks about. Not the fruit that it claims.
Here’s what Les goes on to say are the keys to success:
1. Make discipline a major force in your life.
2. Make it okay to fail – 85% of people allow their fear of failure outweigh their desire to succeed.
4. Master your Talent.
5. Faith to act on whatever your dream is.
6. Make a commitment.
Happy Monday! Go out and make it a good one – go forth and act on your expectations this week 🙂
You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great!
