Happy Monday from Survive at Work. Make a Difference

Happy Monday #51

Good morning!

And how are you all doing today?  Did you have an awesome weekend?

I enjoyed an action packed few days, commencing with an Easter concert on Friday.  Saturday morning saw me helping out in a Coffee Morning Fundraiser, while the afternoon was spent celebrating a birthday in a lovely little Italian restaurant.

If you’re not a fan of fish, avert your eyes… as I’m about to tell you how the Brodetto di Pesce (fish stew) was stunning!  How delicious is this?

Sea bass, salmon, mussels, calamari and prawns, with garlic, fresh chili, cherry tomatoes, white wine and parsley served with ciabatta bread.

Yum!  Highly recommended if you’re ever in Cardiff 🙂

Right then, so on to Happy Monday it is…

Happy Monday #51

This week I want to share a simple, yet inspirational story from InspirationalStories.eu.

Once a king came to the garden and saw fading and dying trees, bushes, and flowers.  An oak said that he’s dying because he can’t be as high as a pine.  Applying to the pine tree, the king found her falling down because she can’t give grapes like a grapevine. And the grapevine was dying because she couldn’t blossom like a rose.

Soon he found a single plant with a pleasing heart, blooming and fresh.  After questioning it, he received the following answer:

“I think it’s a natural event, because when you planted me you wanted to get a joy.  If you wanted to grow an oak, grapes or rose, you would plant them. So I think that I can’t be anything else than what I am.  And I try to develop my best qualities.

And the moral of the story?

Look at yourself.  You can only be yourself.

It is impossible for you to become someone else.

You can joy and blossom or you can fade if you do not accept yourself.

So remember this week to be the Best You, you can be!  Happy Monday 🙂

p.s.

If you’re wondering why I haven’t mentioned next week being Happy Monday #52 – and therefore our first anniversary – there’s a very good reason!

Why?

Well, in the words of the legend Del Boy (Only Fools & Horses), “Rodney, you’re a plonker!”  It appears that I’ve inadvertently omitted Happy Monday #38.  Doh!

So, to put us back in sync, next week will be Happy Monday #51b, lol.  I won’t tell anyone if you don’t 😉

Happy Monday all!
